Come check out the spookiest convention in Cincy!
Horror fans rejoice! It is almost time for everyone’s horror themed convention, HorrorHound 2024. Ohio's spookiest convention will be returning to the Sharonville Convention Center from March 22nd through the 24th. HorrorHound is the place to be for all things horror related this weekend.
For those who may be unaware, this convention hosts some of the most iconic actors to ever grace the silver screen. Horror fanatics will be treated to the likes of Henry Rollins, Eli Roth, Juliette Lewis, Sam Rami, Rider Strong, Kevin Nash, Jane Levy, and Joel David Moore. HorrorHound 2024 will feature nearly 50 celebrities for fans to interact with this year.
As always, one of the biggest draws to the convention will be the annual HorrorHound Film Festival. This event will showcase some of the best up and coming talent the industry has to offer, providing an excellent opportunity for horror fans who want in on the ground floor of next Halloween's biggest hits. The film festival also showcases aspiring talent reading directly from the script to give viewers a deeper insight into these films.
There's this thing in our society that you're not allowed to feel scared. You have to be a man and put on a brave face, but we all have fears. - Eli Roth
Another amazing aspect of the convention is the annual Q&A panels. This year's HorrorHound will feature a Q&A panel for Hatchet, Re-Aninimator, The Blair Witch Project, The Raimi Brothers, Cabin Fever, Talkin Rasslin, Halloween Ends, House, and Dead Meat. Each of these panels will feature members of the cast or production of the film. I think I could listen to Mick Foley talk about Rasslin all day long.
HorrorHound offers a variety of workshops for horror fans who want to be educated during the convention. There will be two Indie Filmmaker Q&A panels, a set safety workshop, a camera operations workshop, a stop-motion animation workshop, and a costuming workshop. Each of these workshops is two hours long and is sure to inspire and inform all who attend.
Another facet of HorrorHound is the amazing tattoo experience. This year's artists include Blaine, Brandon Durbin, Brenton Potter, Faye Lavey, Gwen Crawford, Justin Crawford, Kevin Tattrie, Marc Draven, Mikey Brown, Paul Lavey, and Tori Robinson.
As is tradition, HorrorHound will feature a cosplay contest for enthusiastic fans to compete in. This competition is open to adult and child performers. The event begins on Saturday, March 23, and will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The glorious Lady Glamorstein will judge all performances. Attendees can also witness a Night with Henry Rollins for an additional fee.
One of the best parts of going to a convention is all of the sweet loot. This year, HorrorHound will feature over fifty vendors for attendees to explore. This ensures that fans will take home the coolest horror merch the world has to offer. Some of these vendors include the iconic Atomic Cotton, Blood Moon Pictures, Big Purple Glasses, Blood Scream Comics, and Carissa’s Creations.
HorrorHound 2024 will be located at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The address for the convention center is 11355 Chester Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45246. Parking can be found within the convention center or at the surrounding parking lots.
