Where fun and Fantasy come to play
Cincinnati Comic Expo is coming back this week and is set to be one of the biggest conventions in the region. Those attending will be presented with comic creators, celebrities, an amazing Cosplay contest, a video game contest, and on site authentication for all your comic needs.
This year, fans can witness Alan Davis (Batman), Bart Sears (X-Men), Howard Victor Chaykin (Star Wars), Kevin Eastman (Deadpool), and Larry Houston (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). All in all, this year will feature fifteen of the best comic artists for fans to interact with.

One of the major draws of these conventions will always be the celebrity guest appearances. This go around, the Cincinnati Comic Expo will feature 18 amazing celebrities from some of our favorite projects. Some of these include Peter Weller (Robocop), Alyson Court (Resident Evil), Alison Sealy-Smith (X-Men), Chris Porter (the Good Witch), and John Rhys-Davies (The Lord of the Rings).
As always, guests will be invited to come watch the amazing cosplay competition at this year's event. This year the event will be split into two parts. The traditional cosplay contest will be held on Sunday, October 20th shortly after 3 p.m. This event will be broken into 6 categories.
First, we will see the youth class for contestants under 13 years of age. Next up will be the Novice, Journeyman, and Master classes. Each of these groups will be competing for a prize ranging from $30.00 to $550.00.
After that contestants will be invited to compete in the Best Group and Walk on Challenges. The best group will win $300.00 for their attempt and those who didn’t hand make their costume can win up to $100.00 for their entry.
For the cosplay enthusiast who wants to show off their costume, The Cincinnati Comic Expo will hold a Cosplay Fashion Show on Friday, October 18th at 7 p.m. This is an opportunity to really bring your character to life and showcase your best modeling skills while dressed as your favorite character.
If you are a fan of the new X-Men ’97 series, then The Cincinnati Comic Expo has a special treat for you. The cast of X-Men ’97 will be holding a Q&A session on Saturday, October 19th at 3 p.m. If you are unable to make that time, don’t fret, the cast will hold another Q&A on Sunday, October 20th at 12 p.m. What better way to get a better feel for this iconic series than by asking the people who brought it to life?
While you are killing time in between the amazing celebrity experiences and costume contests, why not stop in and play some video games? The Cincinnati Comic Expo will hold several gaming sessions throughout the weekend. The rooms will feature iconic games such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Mortal Kombat 1.
Tickets for the event can be found here. The event is family friendly and all the little nerds out there who are 10 and under will receive free admission alongside an adult ticket carrier. VIP weekend tickets are priced at $115.00. Regular weekend passes are priced at $60.00. Individual passes are $30.00 for Friday and Sunday with Saturday prices being set at $35.00.
