At ScareFest…Everyone Can Hear You Scream!

What new frights and freaks (said with love) will we find at one of the scariest weekends around?

For those unaware, ScareFest Lexington is one of the best horror conventions in the region. For 16 years folks have come from all over to meet their favorite members of horror royalty and fill their bags with iconic merch. This year, they are once again going above and beyond expectations to provide genre fans with an enthralling and terrifying time.

If celebrity interaction is your thing, ScareFest brings over 100 members from the horror world for you to mingle with. To name a few, Alex Vincent (Child’s Play), Charles Band (Full Moon Features), Clive Barker (The Hellbound Heart), Dee Wallace (The Howling), Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Kane Hodder (Jason X), Mathew Lillard (Scream), and Richard Brake (31) will all be in attendance during the convention.

If people aren’t your thing, you can also spend some time checking out the Creepers Truck from Jeepers Creepers or Stephen King’s demonic Christine. If you work your way through all of that and still need something to do, ScareFest offers several activities for genre fans to sink their teeth into.

For fans of spiritualism, Rob Thompson and Dave Schrader are hosting a Celebrity Ghost Hunt Friday Night. Rob, Dave, and a group of brave souls will explore the grounds of the Living Arts and Science Center looking for paranormal activity. The pricing for this event is set at $85.00.

If Ghosts aren’t your thing, maybe check out the Casualty Friday Podcast live on Friday evening. This live event will feature Tiffany Shepis, Felissa Rose, and Kane Hodder discussing the ins and outs of working as a genre actor. Tickets for this event are set at $120.00. Talk Scary to Me will also provide a live episode with hosts Danielle Harris and Scout Taylor-Compton. Tickets for this event are set at $120.00.

Fans of makeup effects will want to snag a ticket for Dinner with Greg Nicotero. The ticket will allow you entry into a private meal at Nic & Normans with the legendary special effects artist Greg Nicotero. The restaurant will be closed to the public for this event and guests will be permitted a Q&A session with the artists. Tickets for this event will be $145.00.

Scarefest will also feature a Horror Trivia Team Challenge, Tactical Zombie Experience, Scaryoke, Horror Drag Theater, A cosplay contest, and the ScareFest film festival. People with little monsters can take the kiddos to the four hour children's block on Sunday. This event will have a costume contest, crafts, and a best evil laugh contest.

For those who come to conventions to learn about the films they love, Scarefest has several panels for you to enjoy over the weekend. There will be a TCM 50th Anniversary: Leatherface panel, Fright Night panel, the Phantasm: 45 year anniversary panel, and a Blair Witch cast reunion panel, just to name a few.

The event begins October 17 at 1 pm for ticketed events, with the main show running from October 18 through the 20th. Doors will open on October 18th at 4 pm and close at 5 pm on October 20th. Tickets are available to purchase online and begin at $30.00 for Friday and Sunday admission. Saturday tickets are $40.00 and the weekend pass is $75.00.

This is a can't miss experience for horror fans. Make sure to grab your friends and family and go see why ScareFest Lexington has been the top horror convention for 16 years and counting. Just make sure to plan your time wisely, it will be over before you know it.
