If it ain't broke, don't fix it! And Just Dance proves it (in the best way)!
The Just Dance Franchise broke onto the dance floor way back in 2009 and quickly rose to the top of the rhythm gaming genre. This massive franchise features 15 main titles and 18 spin offs totaling a whopping 33 titles for players to dance their way through. Just Dance 2024 takes what it has learned from its predecessors and raises the heat up just a little.
One of the most notable additions to the game is the re-tuned workout mode. This mode allows players to track the length of their sessions, the number of songs played, and the estimated calories that they will have burned during that time. If you’re going to be sweating it out in your living room, you may as well be counting it as a form of exercise.

The gameplay of Just Dance 2024 is comparable to previous entries into the series. Players can simply download the Just Dance 2023 app onto their phones and jump right into the action. One often overlooked plus to this system is it doesn’t require families to spend large amounts of cash buying multiple controllers just to play the game together.
There are some of the standard post launch issues any major game will encounter. There are some issues with server connections and some lag caused by server overload. But compared to many other major game launches, everything basically runs as it should with very minor drops in gameplay time.
Just Dance 2024 also offers free content updates and challenges to unlock seasonal cosmetic items allowing players to fully customize their gaming experience. Not to mention the new leaderboard challenge option which allows players to compete head to head via a leaderboard for the highest score achieved with a given song.
Like most modern games, Just Dance 2024 will offer a paid subscription service for players to join if they would like access to additional content. Just Dance+ will give players access to legacy tracks from previous installments of the game as well as access to exclusive songs as they are released each season. Players can snag a one month free trial of the subscription upon purchase of the game to test the waters before making any kind of commitment.
As always, the most exciting thing about these releases is checking out what music has been added to the game. 41 Just Dance 2024 does an impressive job of mixing modern and classic hit songs. For fans of modern music, we get songs like “You Should See Me in a Crown” by Billie Eilish, “ Titi Me Pregunto” by Bad Bunny, “Treasure” by Bruno Mars, and “I’m Not Here To Make Friends” by Sam Smith.
For players that want a more classic dance song, Just Dance 2024 offers hits such as “Gimme More” by Britney Spears, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston, “It’s The Most Wonderful Time of The Year” by Andy Williams, and “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child.
All of these songs song amazing and are easily navigated throughout the Just Dance interface. Even the songs that are performed by the “Just Dancers” and the “Just Dance Orchestra” sound of the same studio quality as the top chart hits on display.
These built in controls of the game are intuitive and the challenges are easy to follow. Just Dance also has accessibility options to help players enjoy the game without hindrance. Some of these options even take into account the living situation of the player base. These options take into account factors like the ability to jump or even a cramped living room situation so that all players will be able to get their groove on whenever they would like.
All of this is to say that Just Dance 2024 doesn’t attempt to reinvent the wheel but chooses to instead improve upon the great foundation that their previous games have already laid. So, if you want to get your groove on at home or just catch a fun workout, Just Dance 2024 will make a good addition to your gaming catalog.
