Sci-Fi 3D’s Deep-Dive into Black Ops 6’s Impressive Season 2 Battle Pass

Season 2 Battle Pass Dropped on January 28th, 2025

Bringing over 100 rewards for players to obtain, the first post-launch Battle Pass sets the stage for another amazing year with Black Ops

Battle Passes have become a mainstay of the live service game format each season. Players are given the option to spend a preset amount of money to unlock new content within their games. Unlike traditional DLCs, a Battle Pass gives players objectives to complete to unlock their rewards. These systems have become a huge part of the Call of Duty landscape and Black Ops 6 is making sure that players get their money's worth.

That’s not the only thing shaking up the Black Ops 6 store this time around either. Activision has stated that 100% of the proceeds of their new LA Fire Relief Bundle will be donated toward relief of the recent Los Angeles fires. On top of that, players are also given the option to purchase new BlackCell variants as well (including an upcoming Terminator event and a rumored TMNT bundle on the horizon).

So, let's take a deeper look into what Black Ops 6 is putting up for sale this month. Players who engaged in the first season will be familiar with the Luttazzi crime family. Well, it looks as though they have come back with a vengeance. In Season 02 of Black Ops 6, the Luttazzi family has put out a bounty on the entire Rogue Team for their actions during the previous season.

When in doubt, pull the trigger...

In preparation for this new battle, players who purchase the Battle Pass have the ability to unlock over 100 new rewards. Some of these include new operator skins, such as the amazing Vortex Operator (Crimson One). The Battle Pass will also feature new Weapon Blueprints, Calling Cards, Finishing Moves, as well as free base weapons.

Dedicated players may be interested in purchasing the BlackCell Instant Reward Premium Battle Pass. This package is worth over 7,000 Call of Duty points and gives players the option to immediately unlock rewards. Some of these include items such as The Blacksmoke AMR Mod 4 Sniper Rifle Weapon Blueprint, and the BlackCell Clan Tag.

The BlackCell Pass will also offer players 20 Battle Pass Tier Skips as well as 1,100 Call of Duty Points. This pass will also offer seven BlackCell exclusive Operator Skins and up to six BlackCell exclusive Weapon Blueprints. All in all, this option has 130 item rewards for players who complete the entire Black Cell Battle Pass. Not to mention that players who also previously purchased the Season 01 BlackCell Battle Pass will receive a 10% player and weapon XP bonus throughout Black Ops 6. Players who purchase every season will earn up to a 50% bonus.

Now, onto the most exciting gameplay aspect of Season 02 of Black Ops 6, the newest zombie map. The fourth zombie map to hit Black Ops 6 is titled The Tomb. This new map is huge and features an incredibly detailed questline. The story is a direct continuation of the Citadelle des Morts quests as well as those that came before it. Players will continue to help Maya while slaying as many of the undead as possible (while chugging a new cola known as Death Perception).

As such, it is recommended that players return to these previous quests using BO6 Directed Mode if they haven’t completed them already. Not only is this new map awesome but it also includes some cool completion rewards. After finishing the questline, players will receive 5,000 XP, the X91 Ice Pike Staff of Ice skin as well as a Calling Card. Players who complete the quest before Directed Mode is added will receive a special variant as proof of their efforts.

It looks as though Activision is pulling out all the stops for Black Ops 6 Season 02. Between unlocking each reward and killing the undead, players should have their hands full for some time to come. If you want a deeper look into the Battle Pass, check out Activision’s update page here.
