Cloud City: SW Insider #48
This image is based on the scene from ESB. It blends the lightning and colors from the original ESB and the building designs from the Special Edition. The biggest challenge was without any doubt, the lightning. I did it for the ESB 20th anniversary issue of Star Wars Insider, so it was my particular tribute to my favorite SW movie. I used Max 3 and Photoshop 5 for textures.

Javier's work is incredible. Interesting note is he usually only has a few days to spit something out for The Insider. So what he often does is only model and render what is facing the camera.
